OpTic are the last team to advance to the playoffs at IEM Sydney after beating Chiefs 16-10 on Train.
Starting at bombsite A and finishing it at B, Chiefs began Train with a successful T-side pistol round. After winning the subsequent anti-ecos, the Australian team managed to win the first gun round with a great fake play – it started as a B execution that turned out to be a ladder play.

Chiefs were then able to win their fifth in a row, but in a semi-buy in the sixth round, OpTic finally managed to pick their first. Besides that one, the North American squad won eight straight rounds with a double-AWP setup in the hands of Oscar "mixwell" Cañellas and Keith "NAF" Markovic – the latter also pulled off a 1v2 clutch in the 12th round – before losing the 15th round and finishing the first half 9-6 in their favor.
As for the second half, OpTic secured the pistol round with a fast B execution. From that point onward, the North American extended their lead to 12-6 before their opponents were able to buy guns.
James "hazed" Cobb and co. then reached the 14 rounds. Chiefs called for a tactical pause and, despite losing the round that followed their timeout, they managed to win three in a row to reduce the scoreline to 9-14.
However, a AWP save by mixwell in the previous round was crucial to reach match point in the 24th round as the Spanish player killed two before his team secured it. The Aussies didn't back off and won yet another round, but OpTic had their eyes set on the playoffs and finished the map 16-10.
